Frankincense: King of Essential Oils

We’ve talked about Myrrh, the Oil of Gladness or Joy, and other essential oils of the Bible, now let’s talk about Frankincense!  Frankincense is mentioned specifically 81 times in the Bible. Frankincense is steam distilled from the gum or resin of the Burseraceae tree found in Oman, Jordan.  This essential oil is potent and can do many things well, and so we refer to it as “King of Essential Oils.”
Frankincense is made up primarily of monoterpenes and promotes permanent healing in virtually every part of the body. Frankincense can penetrate the blood brain barrier, allowing it to work more effectively on emotional and physical well being and neurological disorders/diseases are affected greatly by the use of this king of essential oils.
“Simply put; monoterpenes are present in essential oils and can actually restore correct information in the DNA of the cell by inhibiting the accumulation of toxins.”
In Bible times, Frankincense was used in the Holy Anointing Oil, used to enhance meditation and elevate spiritual consciousness, used for embalming, and as a perfume.  The King of Essential Oils was also used to anoint the newborn sons of kings and priests, which may be the reason it was brought as a gift to the baby Jesus.
Today we use Frankincense for a multitude of reasons.  We can find great results when using it for brain injuries, seizures, cancer, depression, allergies, headaches, bronchitis, tonsillitis, warts, typhoid, massive head injuries, strokes, cuts, scrapes, bruises, and the list could go on!
This King of Essential Oils is also known as the oil of Truth.  Applying topically or diffusing/inhaling will help us to feel connected and not abandoned.  It will allow us to focus on our Heavenly Father and know Him as He truly is – a loving, faithful God, who nurtures, guides, and protects.
